Boris Eldagsen studied philosophy and fine arts in Mainz, Cologne, Prague and Hyderabad. The photo and video artist lives and works in Berlin and has taught at the Victorian College of the Arts & Music , Melbourne, the Academy of Fine Arts, Mainz, Furtwangen University and the Photograph Studies College Melbourne.
Eldagsen combines street photography with staged photography and creates spectacular and dreamlike images without material battles or digital effects. The photographic means of light and shadow become symbolic carriers of in-between moments that are inaccessible to rational thought and depict inner reality, the unconscious, the archetypal and the unspeakable.
