Katja Stuke

Katja Stuke, born in Telgte in 1968, lives and works in Düsseldorf. Together with Oliver Sieber she publishes the photo magazine "Die Böhm", publishes her books as BöhmKobayashi, curates photography exhibitions under the title ANT!FOTO and shows her work in joint exhibitions such as "Our House" or "Fax from the Library". Stuke's work has recently been shown at the Museum for Contemporary Photography in Chicago, the Museum Folkwang in Essen and the Museum Schloss Morsbroich in Leverkusen.

After completing two series ("Suits" about men in suits, which began in the City of London, and "Eleven to Liverpool Street" about surveillance and protests at the G20 summit in 2009) in London, a city also almost entirely under video surveillance, the images in the exhibited series were taken in Tiananmen Square in 2011. In addition to the question of individuality, politics and image surveillance and control, the focus is also on fashion, fashion production and the connection between fashion and politics.
