NEW FARMER pretends to be a collection of documentary photographs from the 1960s that celebrate the successes of the Green Agricultural Revolution. As the narrative unfolds, the images start testing the viewer, hovering just slightly beyond believability until finally turning absurd. The work questions the dominant narrative of technological progress and explores our extractive relationship to nature, as well as the way history is made and perceived through images.
