In her project, Maryam Takhtkeshian queries collective remembrance of war. Inspired by a vague childhood memory, she combines photographs, archive material and video installations in order to tell stories of missing soldiers. Using a historical “soldier’s camera” and the wet plate technique she creates fragile images that symbolize the uniformity of the soldiers – a powerful reminder of war and loss.
