As trees are connected with their roots, so people are shaped by their environment. Being rooted means stability – but change is inevitable. Natural disasters, migration or personal upheavals demonstrate how deeply impacting uprooting can be. The BFF exhibition VERWURZELT sheds light on the subject from social, ecological and historical perspectives. The photographs demonstrate how nature and identity are interwoven.
