The Finnish photo artist Elina Brotherus has become internationally known for her self-portraits, journal-like series, landscape shots and situative images. She is one of the most well-known Scandinavian artists. Her distinctive aesthetic and a unique mood characterize her photographic work with playful, cryptic, existential dimensions. A representative selection from one of her latest work cycles, devoted to Joseph Beuys, is on view in her first solo show in the Van der Grinten Galerie.
