Michael Hooymann photographs pond surfaces with their autumnal leaves and tree reflections. In the mostly delicate, thoroughly patterned structures, which in the broadest sense are reminiscent of Monet’s waterlily ponds, delightful moments of the fall season are reflected. The perspectival imagining of a spatial illusion of leaves in the foreground and forest fragments behind, with their shadows and contrasts, forms a complement and hence one pictorial, compositional unit.
