Since 1993, twenty-one cultural heritage sites and five natural heritage sites in Japan have been added to the UNESCO World Heritage list. The exhibition displays shots of these places deemed particularly worthy of protection, which include temples, shrines, castles and historical villages. All works come from Miyoshi Kazuyoshi (*1958), who in 1985, as the youngest award-winner at that time, received the Kimura Ihee Award for his photobook Rakuen (Paradise). Further publications and solo exhibitions followed.
