Cologne-based artistic photographer HP Schaefer has been working in strictly conceptual series for more than twenty years. In the exhibition 'Deciphering Photography', the gallery shows r8m works which deal with the digital nature of contemporary photography, with the digital recording method and the construction of images. With Schaefer, the code behind the depiction of external reality becomes a visible component of the photographic portrayal.
