Would you like to take a short or long photo tour of the Photoszene Festival 2023?
How about a tour through the Belgian Quarter? We have prepared a route for you, on which you will find all the exhibition venues of the quarter, you just pick out your raisins or make several stages on different days.
But be careful: Make sure that all exhibition venues are really open on the day you have chosen for your tour. You can find the opening hours at the bottom of the page.
No. 33 - You'll start at Atelier Claudia Mewaldt (Moltkestraße 133), where the photographer will show black-and-white photographs of Cologne's otherwise busy streets and bridges during the lockdown.
No. 30 - From there, it's a 5-minute walk to Art of Buna e.V. Galerie (Genter Str. 26), where you can see documentaries of Ethiopia's unprecedented urban transformation in the capital, Addis Ababa.
No. 57 - A stone's throw away, you can take your first coffee or lunch break at Hallmackenreuther (Brüsseler Pl. 9) and, of course, don't miss the "Koblenz Analog" exhibition from the University of Koblenz's photography department.
No. 20 - Just around the corner is the Bene Taschen Gallery (Moltkestr. 81), where the exhibition "Flesh Life" by Joseph Rodriguez documents life in Mexico City in 1997.
No. 47 - Once briefly up Aachener Straße, you'll find the exhibition "Night Pieces" at Büro Gestalten (Aachner Str. 24), based on a series of landscape photographs, shots of a sea surface under full moonlight in portrait mode. Here in one of the many cafes and bars maybe a quick refreshing drink before you move on?
No. 27 - On the next cross street, the photographs on display at Parrotta Contemporary Art Cologne (Brüsseler Str. 21) are all dedicated to the theme of the festival.
Nos. 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43 - Your tour ends just across the street at the pop-up space BEISTE_Satellite (Brüsseler Str. 26), where six exhibitions of young and established positions await you on 500 square meters. Since popcorn is also available here, and sometimes drinks in the evening, it's a great place to start your evening off or to hit the bars in Cologne's trendy district.
