Would you like to take a short or long photo tour of the Photoszene Festival 2023?
How about a tour through Sülz and Lindenthal? We have prepared a route for you, on which you will find all the exhibition venues in the neighborhoods, you just pick out your raisins or make several stages on different days.
No. 24 - You could start at the gallery r8m at Luxemburger Str. 99. Here, Cologne-based photo artist HP Schaefer shows works that explore the digital nature of contemporary photography.
No. 29 - A 15-minute walk will take you to 68elf studio at Gottesweg 102. The exhibition series "photo con text" explores the following questions: How can poetry and photography be brought together? Does a photograph interpret a text or is it the other way around, so that the text explains the photograph?
No. 51 - If you still haven't had enough of photo exhibitions, get on your bike or hop on the 13 and head to Fotoraum Köln e.V. at Herderstr. 88, where Tamara Eckhardt's multiple award-winning series "vom plötzlichen Erwachsenwerden" can be seen, in which she portrayed young mothers between the ages of 16 and 21 from Berlin's outlying district of Marzahn-Hellersdorf.
No. 53 + 66 - Just a 15-minute walk away on Dürener Straße, you'll find Galerie Wichelmann (Dürener Str. 137), where eight Cologne-based photographers from the "Clicks!" group are showing their best exhibits. As well as the Labor für Kunst und Forschung (Dürener Str. 89), where the exhibition "no room to move" focuses on precisely those supposedly blocked, disappeared, overcrowded, broken places in which we find ourselves trapped.
Sweet or savory, vegan, hearty, with or without alcohol - you're sure to find a pick-me-up on Dürener Straße.
No. 12 - For the hardy, head on over to the Italian Cultural Institute at Universitätsstr. 81 afterward for Corinna Del Bianco's exhibition "Archipelago," the result of a research project to document the diversity of the Mediterranean islands, especially the inhabited ones.
No. 13 - Quasi once across the street is the Japanese Cultural Institute, where a German-Japanese dialogue exhibition features photographs by Thomas Bergner and Nakazato Katsuhit
Nr. 01 - The last stop on the Sülz-Lindenthal tour is the Artist Meets Archive exhibition by Japanese artist Naoya Hatakeyama at the Museum of East Asian Art, curated by members of the photo scene. At the end of the tour, you'll get a coffee to sit on the grass or a bench at the Aachener Weiher and let everything you've seen sink in...
