Would you like to take a short or long photo tour of the Photoszene Festival 2023?
How about a tour through the southern part of Cologne? We have prepared two routes for you, one long and one short, which can of course be combined individually. You simply pick out your raisins or make several stages on different days out of it.
But be careful: Make sure that all exhibition venues are really open on the day you have chosen for your tour. You will find the opening hours at the bottom of the page.
No. 10 - You start at the Forum für Fotografie (Schönhauser Str. 8), which shows a comprehensive exhibition of the work of the photographer Uwe Steinberg, who died at an early age.
No. 25 - Right next door at Galerie Thomas Zander (Schönhauser Str. 8) you will find photographs from Jürgen Klauke's group of works "Bodysounds" (2019/2022) and drawings from ʻKreuz & Queer III Mʼ (2021) as well as Max Regenberg's "No Borders. No Clocks. No Deadlines," black-and-white and color photographs and original posters from his collection.
No. 60 - K49 - From here, take a detour to Raum für Kreative (Goltsteinstr. 49), where Heinz Pi embarks on a photographic search for traces of the Cologne wholesale market in Cologne-Raderberg.
No. 73 - About a 7-minute walk away, Marc Hillesheim and Olaf Kaul tell the story of the volcanic landscape of the Eastern Eifel at Stadtwaldholz (Koblenzer Str. 15).
No. 22 - On your way to Galerie Julian Sander (Bonner Str. 82), you'll find plenty of opportunities to grab a bite to eat on Bonner Str. before checking out about 40 recently rediscovered vintage prints by Peter Keetman, a central figure in postwar German photography.
No. 08 - 10 minutes away on foot in the Altes Pfandhaus (Kartäuserwall 20), the NEXT! Ateliers offer insights into the work of two young photographers. Selected works by the Kulturcaster, the Bilderforscher and the Kamerakinder will be on display. The Open Photo Wall invites visitors to make their own exhibition contributions.
Numerous other exhibitions will take place around Chlodwigplatz as part of the Photoszene Festival. If you haven't seen enough so far, you can pick out more spots from our second Südstadt tour and move on, or hop on a streetcar and head to another Cologne neighborhood.
