Aminata Estelle Diouf says:
1. yokohama souvenirs
This exhibition could be very exciting because the artist bridges the gap between the present and Meiji period, a time when Japan reopened to the world community after centuries of closure and experienced rapid social change.
2 Shall you return everything, but the burden
3. the loneliness one dare not sound
I am very much looking forward to these two exhibitions, as I engage with postcolonial continuities in my own scholarly and curatorial work, and translate decolonial and anti-racist approaches into my practice. In addition, I always find Ebertplatz exciting as an exhibition space that links art with the urban and very different actors*.
4th I Am! You too! - Identity in society
Identity is another topic I'm dealing with in the context of my doctorate, so I'm looking forward to seeing how the topic is negotiated differently in the artistic positions in this group exhibition.
