Albrecht Fuchs, born in Bielefeld in 1963, lives and works in Cologne. After studying photography at the Gesamthochschule Essen, he taught at the Düsseldorf Art Academy and gave portrait workshops at the Goethe Institute in Lagos and Wellington. His work became known nationally and internationally in solo and group exhibitions. Fuchs has photographed a large number of well-known people for magazines such as art, Monopol and newspapers such as the FAZ or the Süddeutsche: in addition to politicians such as Joschka Fischer and actors such as Bud Spencer and Isabella Rosellini, he has photographed numerous artists such as Martin Kippenberger, Raymond Pettibon, Mike Kelley, Elizabeth Peyton and Georg Herold.
The exhibited work is a portrait photograph by the Canadian artist Rodney Graham, who has created a multi-layered oeuvre since the mid-1970s, characterised by the use of a wide variety of media, irony and virtuosity.
