"I look for images that do not exhaust themselves in what is depicted, but point beyond it." What Kati Faber (*1969 in Gera) has found in this case is a double bottom within the photographic medium. In her work "A Meditation on Progress", she refers to the act of uncovering the hidden beneath the dust. It is not the gesture that can be seen, but part of the result, which also refers to photography as an action with the means of photography. It is not the sunset that is the content of Kati Faber's work, but the photograph of it, covered in dust, ready to point to something. It just needs to be uncovered.
