In his stagings, Austrian artist Thomas Albdorf plays with typical images of cities and roles that are anchored in the general consciousness through depictions in pop culture and in which personal experiences are superimposed by media images. The works from the "Body Double" series show a portrait of the city of Los Angeles, in which appropriated and (de)constructed images, experiences, possible memories and real uncertainties are intertwined. Albdorf shows body doubles, thus questioning the production conditions of images, the authenticity of what is shown and what role one's own experiences play in the viewing of images.
