Die Photographische Sammlung/SK Stiftung Kultur
As part of Artist Meets Archive #4, Die Photographische Sammlung/SK Stiftung Kultur is pleased to collaborate with an artist who places the medium of photography at the centre of his/her work. An affinity for so-called objective conceptual photography and photographic holdings that can be found in our collection ranging from the historical to the contemporary is particularly advantageous. The collection today includes over 40,000 works by photographers of various nationalities.
Much of the collection has not yet been published, so in 2024 we are once again prepared to provide the artist who takes on the project with many interesting insights so that an exciting exhibition (in an exhibition space with approx. 37 meters of wall space) can be presented in 2025, with an opening on March 13th.*
The opening of the Photoszene Festival on May 9th will also set a special accent. The applicant can expect a small team that is looking forward to a personal exchange and will support and realise the new project ideas as far as possible. An extensive library is also available.
We are looking forward to the applications and would be delighted to gain an in-depth insight into the applicants' biographies, various works, projects and ideas. We should be able to communicate in German or English.
* The exhibition in the Photographic Collection will open before the start of the festival. Please consider this shorter planning time for your application.
