Lilly Lulay pursues the question of how Artificial Intelligence looks at images and what, in comparison to that, directs her own artistic attention. The basis for this is the archive of the Cologne-based (stereo)photographer Karl-Heinz Hatlé, who between 1961 and 1999 travelled to many parts of the world, also illustrating early signs of a globalized world of commodities as he did so. Together with pupils from the Gesamtschule Holweide, Lulay reflects on our visual culture of today, which is characterized by algorithms and image recognition programs.
A cooperation with the Kölner Gymnasial- und Stiftungsfonds.
