Grand Opening 11th May 2023 7.30 p.m.

A warm invitation to the opening ceremony of this year's Photoszene Festival 2023 at the Rautenstrauch-Joest-Museum on 11 May 2023 at 7.30 pm! Together with all participating partner exhibitions, we will celebrate the start of the 10-day festival in Cologne on this evening.

We are waiting for you with an exhibition by Lebohang Kganye, who has created a spectacular multi-channel projection and installation about her journey to Cameroon as part of the Artist Meets Archive programme, and the exhibition First Pages, which the RJM has made in cooperation with the universities of Dortmund and Hanover and forty students. And have any of you ever danced on the incunabula of western art history? Then come on in! The dance floor installation by our former Artist Meets Archive artist Philipp Goldbach (AMA #2) is waiting for you on the ground floor; drinks and music by DJ Formosa. We are looking forward to seeing you!
